GRAEAGLE — November 2, 2026. The U.S. Forest Service identifies Gold Lake as a central access point in the Graeagle-area Lakes Basin, with launch facilities and multiple developed campgrounds.
Water access
The Forest Service’s recreation guide describes a two-lane boat ramp, seasonal dock and parking for lake users. A gravel hand-launch area serves smaller craft; current ramp availability and any inspection rules should be confirmed.
Campground season is driven by snow
The guide says sites generally open following snowmelt and remain in service until snow returns. Some campground amenities and fee collection are reduced after Labor Day. That should not be mistaken for guaranteed camping or drinking water in November.
How to verify an outing
Plumas National Forest’s Beckwourth Ranger District lists 530-836-2575 for local trail and facility questions. Check current access and weather, and avoid crossing private property to reach lakeside areas.
